Inferno Drainer has built an empire of fraudulent websites with Scam Sniffer detecting the creation of over 689 phishing sites by Inferno since March 27 . These deceptive sites target more than 220 popular brands, including Pepe, Bob, Collab .Land, zkSync, Sui, ChainGPT and PUYSPOP . Offering a turnkey service Inferno even provides the option for customers to have their own phishing sites built for a share of the profits .
Multi-Channel Theft and Desperate Victims
Inferno Drainer operates across multiple channels with reported thefts of $4 .3 million from Ethereum, $790,000 from Arbitrum, $410,000 from Polygon and $390,000 from BNB Chain . After falling victim to the scams desperate victims have attempted to contact the fraudsters in hopes of recovering a portion of their stolen funds which highlights the distress faced by those affected by these attacks .
Decrease in Hacks, but Vigilance Remains Crucial
Despite the alarming activities of Inferno Drainer and similar entities there is some positive news regarding the overall trend of hacks . Data indicates a 70% decrease in hacks during the first quarter of 2023 .
